House Bill 15, sponsored by Representative Ron Bigelow, passed the Utah State Legislature in the 2009 General Session. This bill directs the Salt Lake County portion of the Salt Lake • Tooele Applied Technology College (SLTATC) to combine with the Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) Skills Center to form the School of Applied Technology under SLCC, and the Tooele County portion to establish a Utah College of Applied Technology (UCAT) campus in Tooele.
Therefore, beginning July 1, 2009, SLCC’s School of Applied Technology will continue the operations of SLTATC for students in Salt Lake County, and UCAT’s Tooele Applied Technology College will assume responsibility for training students in Tooele County.
This blog has been established to provide students an informal way of sharing opinions, ideas, and information, as well as a place to ask questions and receive answers directly from SLTATC and SLCC staff and administration.
